Vucic reported 56 casualties during the protests in Belgrade.

56 people were injured during protests in Belgrade on Saturday. This was announced on March 15 by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic during his speech at a press conference broadcast by the RTS television channel.
"Vucic noted that a total of 56 people were injured, but none of them were seriously injured," the TV channel said.
It is specified that all the victims were sent to medical institutions. According to the president, during the demonstration, 22 people were detained by law enforcement officers for various offenses. According to him, according to army estimates, there were 88,000 people on the streets, but according to police, there were 107,000, while the Bureau of Indian Affairs estimate is somewhere in the middle.
"More than 60 shots from cannons, flares, and shells, the number of which is unknown, were fired at the Pioneer Park. If someone is going to say that there was no violence, then there was a lot of violence," Vucic said.
According to him, more than 100 tractors belonging to Serbian farmers were damaged during the protests, which were used to block the movement of protesters to certain points.
In addition, the Serbian leader stressed that he had no plans to resign despite the protests. He noted that the authorities understood the message that the demonstrators were trying to convey.
"We have understood the message well, and we will have to change ourselves," the president said.
The demonstration began in the Serbian capital early in the morning. The protest action of the students involves the blocking of key points in Belgrade. According to the organizers' plan, the culmination of the action will begin at 17:00 local time (19:00 Moscow time) on the square in front of the Serbian Parliament. Amid the protests in Belgrade, public transport was suspended until the end of the day. Later, a convoy of 100 tractors joined the protesters.
The reason for the start of anti-government protests by students and the opposition since November 2024 was the death of 15 people as a result of the collapse of the canopy of the railway station in Novi Sad. After the tragedy, Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic resigned.
