A fighter jet of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) crashed in the southern Chinese province of Hainan during an exercise. This was announced on March 15 on the official account of the Southern Zone of the Army Combat Command on the social network WeChat.

"Around 13:00 (08:30 Moscow time. On March 15, a fighter jet of the naval Command of the PLA Southern Combat Command Zone crashed during an exercise and fell in an open area near the village of Jialai in Lingao County, Hainan Province," The Epoch Times quoted the report as saying.

It is noted that the pilot was able to successfully eject with a parachute. The reasons for the incident are being investigated.

In the South Korean city of Pyeongchong on March 6, an emergency bomb descended on an apartment building during an exercise. According to military authorities, eight bombs were dropped during joint exercises between the South Korean and US Air Forces. It was noted that none exploded. South Korean military personnel reported that the incident was caused by an error in entering coordinates by the pilot. According to Yonhap news agency, 15 people were injured in the incident, including two soldiers and two foreigners. Two victims were diagnosed with serious injuries, while the rest were slightly injured.
