Thief-in-law Merab Dzhangveladze's brother was shot dead in Tbilisi


Levan Dzhangveladze, the brother of thief-in-law Merab Dzhangveladze, was shot dead at a pedestrian crossing on Chavchavadze Avenue in Tbilisi, the Georgian Mtavari TV channel reported on March 15.
"Late on Friday evening, Levan Dzhangveladze, the brother of thief—in-law Merab Dzhangveladze, was shot dead in the Vake area," the media reports.
Footage from the scene appeared on local social networks, which showed that the attacker was specifically expecting Dzhangveladze, and after his appearance he fired several shots.
According to the TV channel, Dzhangveladze arrived in the capital of Georgia for several days, he moved around the city accompanied by guards. A nearby passerby was also wounded during the shooting, and a bullet hit the man. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
In April 2020, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow arrested Moldovan citizen Andrei Torkunov, known as the Turk thief in law, under an article about occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. The investigation revealed that he received the status of a thief in law in 2013. In turn, on January 22 of this year, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation rejected the cassation appeal against the verdict of Beslan Khabilaev, Sergei Sarah and Roman Cheban, Torkunov's accomplices.
