The Sovetsky District Court has arrested the former deputy governor of the Bryansk region, Sergei Timoshenko, in a case of a particularly large bribe. This was reported on March 15 in the joint press service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the region.
"The Bryansk City Court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention until May 13, 2025 for the former deputy governor of the Bryansk region, S.M. Tymoshenko," the Telegram channel says.
The ex-deputy governor is accused of committing two crimes under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe").
The day before, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Bryansk region published footage of searches and detentions of the former deputy governor of the Bryansk region on its Telegram channel. The investigative actions took place in the Tymoshenko mansion.
Tymoshenko was detained on March 14, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU IC RF) in the Bryansk region reported. According to investigators, the official was responsible for the construction and overhaul of social and other facilities under state and municipal contracts. As a result, he received bribes in the amount of 4 million rubles from entrepreneurs who built sports and recreation complexes.
