On March 15, President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik announced that he was interested in cooperation with US President Donald Trump on the extraction of rare earth metals.

"In the eastern region of Republika Srpska, near the border with Serbia, there are significant deposits of lithium, magnesium and other rare earth minerals," Dodik said in an interview with the American Conservative.

He also clarified that the commercial value of rare earth metals exceeds $100 billion.

The politician stressed that he is ready to provide access to the fields to companies that will be selected by the Trump administration.

Earlier, on March 4, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed the government to search for rare earth metals in the republic. He pointed out that this is a topical issue, and recalled that US President Donald Trump is involved in the issue of mining rare earth metals, but Belarusian officials have not yet dealt with this. Lukashenko stressed that this type of minerals is not found in large numbers, and it is necessary to find out how many of them there are in the republic.
