A criminal case has been opened in the Amur Region after freight train cars derailed and collided with an oncoming train on the Trans-Baikal Railway. This was reported on March 15 in the press service of the Eastern Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee (ICUT) Of Russia.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport")," the Telegram channel says.

The incident occurred on the morning of March 15 on the Chalgany — Ushumun railway line. Previously, 26 wagons derailed. Information about the victims and the amount of damage is being clarified. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
