Two minors arrested in the case of a terrorist attack in the Kaluga region


Two minors were arrested in connection with the arson of railway transport infrastructure in the Kaluga region. This was reported on March 15 in the press service of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
"The suspects are two minors who, according to investigators, set fire to a battery cabinet at the Govardovo railway station on March 12, 2025, acting for a monetary reward promised by an unknown person in a messenger," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.
A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). It is specified that the suspects were detained. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention. The case is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Earlier, on February 21, a resident of Podolsk was sentenced to 15 years for sabotage on the railway on behalf of Kiev. He set fire to a relay cabinet on the Podolsk – Grivno section of the Kursk railway, after which he was supposed to publicly burn the Koran in Moscow.
