European states want to impose new anti-Russian sanctions, but Washington opposes this. This was announced on March 14 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

According to him, during the meeting of the heads of diplomatic departments of the Group of Seven (G7) countries in Canada, the issue of imposing anti-Russian sanctions was raised because European countries want to adopt new restrictions.

"The United States has such opportunities, but right now they don't want to resort to these measures, because they hope to involve both sides in peace negotiations," Rubio said after the summit.

He also added that Washington does not have the ability to control all the actions of European states.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 13 that Russia had adapted perfectly to the sanctions. He also recalled that the measures imposed are illegal and must be lifted.

On March 10, Bloomberg reported that advisers to US President Donald Trump are working on measures to ease anti-Russian sanctions. It is noted that this will affect, among other things, restrictions on oil prices.
