Security advisers to the leaders of Great Britain, Germany and France will meet at the White House to discuss the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. This was reported on March 14 by the newspaper Die Welt, citing sources in diplomatic circles.

It is specified that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's adviser on foreign affairs and security policy, Jens Pletner, urgently went to Washington. According to the newspaper, the meeting will also be attended by Jonathan Powell, adviser to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on national security issues, Emmanuel Bonn, adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron, and Mike Waltz, adviser to American leader Donald Trump.

On the same day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced "moving forward" in negotiations on Ukraine after a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump's special envoy Steven Witkoff in Moscow. He also expressed the hope that this weekend the American side would study Russia's position in detail and determine the next steps. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that Putin had provided additional information through Witkoff. He added that the exact time of the meeting of the leaders has not yet been determined.
