Over the weekend, the Moskino Film Park will tell about the knights' weapons and hold fencing lessons.

Master classes dedicated to crafts and armory of medieval Russia will be held at 20 locations of the Novgorod Knight's Tournament Festival, which opened in the Moskino Film Park. This was told by the organizers.

On March 15 and 16, a blacksmith workshop will be open here: visitors to the master classes will plunge into the atmosphere of an ancient blacksmith shop and try their hand at this craft. In the weapons workshop, guests will get acquainted with infantry and knight weapons and learn about the types of weapons of medieval warriors and the secrets of their creation.

Fencing lessons, shield painting and heraldry classes will be held for those who wish. At the Knights and Orders workshop, guests will learn about the most powerful chivalric orders from the time of the Crusades. Participants will immerse themselves in the mysteries of the Templars, Teutons and Hospitallers, find out who the squires, chaplains and commanders are.

Carpentry and foundry workshops will also operate on the territory of the film park, guests will be offered to master the basics of calligraphy and the art of coinage, and they will be introduced to woodworking technologies. Visitors will also be able to visit a tanner and a candle workshop to create authentic candles from wax, which in ancient times served as the only source of light at night in peasant huts and boyar's chambers. And spice merchants will tell you how turmeric and saffron got to Novgorod, which seasonings were particularly popular and how much overseas spices cost.

There will also be a field kitchen on the site, where you can learn about dishes based on ancient recipes. They will also arrange street games here: they will offer, for example, to play ruffles and knucklebones — these are ancient varieties of towns.

On March 15 and 16, the Moskino Film Park will host the Knighthood Tournament in Novgorod. These days, guests will see a reconstruction of jousting tournaments and battles.
