- Medvedev called Putin's humane approach to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region

On March 14, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, called Russian President Vladimir Putin's approach to the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) very humane in the Kursk region.
"If the Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region lay down their arms, they will be guaranteed life and decent treatment," Medvedev quoted Putin in his Telegram channel.
The deputy chairman of the Security Council noted that this is a very humane approach of the Russian Federation, but its downside means that if they refuse to lay down their arms, all Ukrainian military personnel will be "consistently and ruthlessly destroyed."
According to the politician, the Kiev regime still has a chance to save its people and "the coming hours will show what they have chosen."
On the same day, US President Donald Trump announced that productive talks with the Russian leader had taken place the day before. The politician added that there is every chance that this conflict will end soon. At the same time, he said that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are surrounded by Russian forces and their position is vulnerable.
Earlier, on March 12, at a meeting at the control center of the Kursk group of the Russian Armed Forces, Putin noted the need to treat captured Ukrainian militants in the Kursk region as terrorists, but stressed the importance of humane treatment for all those who were captured. He also recalled that foreign mercenaries are not subject to the 1949 Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
