The first stories series from SHOT has ended

The final episode of the 12-episode project aired on March 14. The series was released on March 3 against the background of news about the elections in the city of Berezovsky, Sverdlovsk region. Then the candidate Yulia Maslakova became mayor, but she soon resigned, challenged the results in court and disappeared.

SHOT Telegram channel blogger Peter Skufanov went to Berezovsky to sort out the situation. He met with officials, talked with local residents, and even declared his willingness to lead the city himself. Skufanov studied Berezovsky's problems, visited the mine, the district newspaper and the city bathhouse, trying to get closer to the people. While awaiting the court's decision on re-election, the blogger left the city. But he promised to come back if the locals invited him again.

Peter Skufanov himself noted that the project was the first story series on Telegram in Russia.: "This has never been filmed before. We worked online, without a script, improvising and recording people's live reactions. It turned out to be a real stories-reality show."

He also stressed that the idea of the project was prompted by life itself. "Berezovsky was on the news all over Russia, and we wanted to connect to this comical situation, see it from the inside and offer our help to the townspeople. In my opinion, it turned out to be a cool, bright, interesting, kind project," Peter summed up.

SHOT said that the idea of the story series was born after the elections in Berezovsky.

"Mayor Skufanov is an attempt to understand what is happening in Berezovsky, find out the attitude of local residents to the authorities, understand their problems and plunge into the daily life of an ordinary and caring Berezovsky resident. Will there be a second season and will candidate Skufanov run for election? — let's keep the intrigue here, we have several ideas, everything will depend on the format of the re-elections and the political situation in the region. One thing I can say for sure: if Skufanov enters the election race, he will definitely not be a spoiler!", said Denis Arapov, CEO of the joint editorial board of LIFE and SHOT.
