IT specialists talked about the key factors when choosing a job.

A significant part of IT specialists (42%) prefer to work in companies engaged in outsourcing, outstaffing, custom development and integration, according to a study by IC Rosgosstrakh and the Salary job search service.ru". The results were reviewed by Izvestia on March 17.
39% of respondents said they were leaning towards IT product companies, while 7% expressed interest in working in IT departments of non-IT organizations. Job satisfaction is influenced by both tangible and intangible factors: 62% of employees said they would like to see their salaries increased, and 9% said they would like a more flexible work schedule. Another 9% of respondents reported difficulties with career growth, 8% were dissatisfied with their responsibilities, 6% had difficulties in relationships with colleagues, and 3% of respondents reported problems with corporate culture and working conditions.
The amount of salary is expected to be of the greatest importance for specialists. 83% of the respondents consider it the main factor in choosing a job and motivation. 31% of respondents strive to earn from 200 thousand to 300 thousand rubles, one in five (20%) — from 400 thousand to 500 thousand rubles, 18% — from 100 thousand to 200 thousand rubles, and 16% will be satisfied with an income in the range of 300-400 thousand rubles. 13% dream of a salary of over 500 thousand rubles per month, and only 2% are willing to work for less than 100 thousand rubles.
IT specialists also choose an employer based on the quality of relationships between employees. 68% of the respondents especially appreciate a healthy atmosphere in the team. 58% of respondents said that interesting tasks, loyal leadership, and work-life balance play a big role for them. Half of the employees focus on a convenient schedule, and 46% emphasize the opportunity to work remotely.
An important component of motivation is the social package. 90% of the respondents reported that they receive certain benefits and bonuses at their current place of work. They mainly include an individual VMI policy (52%), corporate mobile Internet connection (49%), children's holiday gifts (40%), payments for socially significant events (34%), corporate training (33%) and discounts from partners (32%). At the same time, 58% of specialists are ready to change jobs for a more attractive social package, and 6% — even if it will be accompanied by a small loss in salary.
"The IT market is actively developing, and year by year the competition among employers for highly qualified specialists is only increasing. According to our research, only 36% of IT professionals are completely satisfied with their current work, while 61% of respondents note opportunities for improvement. When choosing an employer, candidates pay attention not only to their income level and social package, but also to the opportunity to implement large—scale projects on a modern technological stack, develop professionally, and maintain a balance between work and personal life thanks to a flexible schedule," said Dmitry Shaikhatarov, member of the Management Board and head of the Information Technology unit at Rosgosstrakh.
Earlier, on March 6, it was reported that for the majority of Russians surveyed (75%), job satisfaction is a key indicator of a successful career. This is stated in the results of the study of the service "Work.ru". In addition, high earnings (71%) and professionalism (64%) are considered important.
