Truck traffic will be restricted in Irkutsk region

Temporary traffic restrictions for trucks will be introduced in the Irkutsk region from April 15. This is necessary to reduce road wear in the spring.

The restriction will apply on roads of regional and inter-municipal significance. Appropriate signs will be installed on all routes, IrkutskMedia news agency writes. The restriction does not apply to international cargo transportation, passenger transportation, transportation of food, medicines, seeds and fertilizers, as well as transport necessary for emergency response.

The Directorate of Highways noted that such measures will reduce the load on roads during periods of waterlogging and adverse weather conditions.

A similar restriction will be introduced in the Amur region. In the south, it will be valid from April 10 to May 9, in the north — from April 15 to May 14.
