Canada discussed with the EU retaliatory measures to increase US duties

Canada has discussed with the European Union (EU) retaliatory measures to increase US duties on imported goods. This was announced on March 14 by the country's Foreign Minister Melanie Joly during a conversation with journalists.
"I have been working with the Europeans to exchange information — while the EU is imposing counter—duties," said Joly, whose video was published by CTV News.
She also noted that the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump will have a negative impact on Americans. The increase in duties will contribute to higher costs and inflation.
"The Trump administration is involved in trade wars against Canada," Joly said.
On March 13, the American leader posted on the Truth Social social network about the introduction of 200 percent tariffs on alcoholic beverages from France and other EU countries. He made this decision due to the imposition of a 50% duty on whiskey. According to him, such measures will contribute to the positive dynamics of the US economy.
