Experts appreciated the voting process for the concept of a new circus in Moscow

The citywide discussion of the architectural appearance of the new Moscow circus is an important event in the history of the capital, said Vladimir Platonov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to him, the involvement of children and adolescents in voting has become unprecedented in world practice.
The students were able to participate in the discussion thanks to the "Active Citizen for Children" program implemented in the Moscow Electronic School. "This is especially important because children are the key audience of the future circus," Platonov emphasized.
According to him, the active participation of citizens in the discussion of urban issues has become a sustainable practice in the capital.
Various projects and locations were included in the discussion, taking into account the opinions of experts — architects, transport workers, artists, urban planners and circus performers. "This approach has ensured a deep and thoughtful study of all aspects of the future facility," said the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Platonov added that the circus, among other things, will accelerate the development of a large urban area, create new points of attraction, become an incentive for small and medium-sized businesses and enrich the cultural environment.
In turn, the general director of the architectural bureau, urban planner Yulia Zubarik explained that the project is designed for the younger generation, so its creators tried to "look into the future." She noted that such plans can be seriously criticized at the very beginning, but then they become one of the symbols of the city.: this happened, for example, with the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
"I am sure that the new building of the Great Moscow Circus is a landmark world—class architectural project that will eventually become Moscow's calling card for tourists from all over the world," she commented.
The new Moscow Circus will be built in the Mnevnikovskaya floodplain in the north-west of the capital. On March 13, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that residents had identified its visual concept. The project of the architectural bureau "APEX" received the most votes, which was supported by 29% of adults and 42% of children.
