- The political scientist pointed out the lack of specifics in the US theses on Ukraine.

The US positions on Ukraine are fragmented and seem to be taken out of context. On the part of the American representatives, theses acceptable to Russia sound, but they will certainly be followed by demands. So, without specific proposals at the document level, the statements of officials from the United States remain only slogans. Denis Denisov, an expert at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, shared this opinion with Izvestia on March 14.
The day before, Mike Waltz, adviser to the US President on national security, said on Fox News that Washington does not rule out consolidating Russia's sovereignty over new territories in a peace agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
"The paradox of all these statements is that they seem to be taken out of context. We do not have a common document in which we would see the entire algorithm of how the United States sees conflict resolution. And in this regard, Waltz's statement is a good one, on the one hand. On the other hand, what will the United States demand in return? We have already realized that American officials and the American president don't say anything for nothing. And such proposals will be followed by some requirements," commented Denisov.
If a comprehensive document already existed, Russia could regard American initiatives as beneficial or unprofitable, he added. At the same time, the Russian Federation's positions on Ukraine are clear, they were disclosed both in the Foreign Ministry and President Vladimir Putin — the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine.
"We still don't know the American position. It doesn't sound anywhere. There is a set of phrases that the President of America provides us with. And nothing more, based on this, we can't even analyze it. Look at the situation with this ceasefire. Well, great, in the form of a slogan. And how should this work on the field, that is, within the framework of the military-strategic situation in those territories where there is a conflict?" the source pointed out.
He stressed that in order to establish a ceasefire, there must be algorithms related to surveillance, algorithms for the potential withdrawal of weapons.
"Without this, such slogans will remain slogans. It is almost impossible to work with this," the political scientist concluded.
During negotiations with the United States in Saudi Arabia on March 11, representatives of Ukraine expressed their willingness to agree to a 30-day ceasefire. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington is waiting for Moscow's response on this issue.
On March 13, the Russian leader announced that he agreed with the proposal to cease hostilities in Ukraine. However, he stressed that the cessation should be one that would lead to long-term peace and eliminate the original causes of this crisis.
