The flight of the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from the Kursk region and their abandonment of advanced Western military equipment was a blow to the reputation of NATO instructors. The Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk border region was led by representatives of Western forces, but they will try to fully shift responsibility for the failure of the adventure onto the Kiev authorities. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 14 by military analyst and political scientist Vadim Mingalev.

The day before, Forbes reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had left the best samples of their weapons in the Kursk region. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, in turn, said that Russia would convey to Australia the gratitude of our military, who will now use Australian armored personnel carriers.

"Of course, this is a blow to the reputation of Western instructors. After the so-called operation "Pipe" in Sudzha, panic and chaos broke out between the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and those who could fled. And no NATO officers could do anything anymore, the NATO instructors themselves ran away," Mingalev commented.

He stressed that Kiev's Western partners had transferred the best military equipment for the attack on the Kursk region, which would now serve the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, he added, Russian designers will be able to study it and modernize it for greater efficiency.

Among other things, the source admitted, there is a possibility that Kiev will have to seriously answer to Western officials for the loss of equipment and the failure of the operation in the Kursk region.

Also on Friday, Russian military personnel told Izvestia how actions are continuing to clear the Kursk region of the presence of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The day before, it was reported that units of the North group of forces had liberated the settlements of Sudzha, Melovoy and Podol in the Kursk region during offensive operations. In addition, the Russian military defeated seven brigades and an enemy assault regiment in the areas of the settlements of Gogolevka, Goncharovka, Zaoleshenka, Guevo, Oleshnya, Zapselye, Sudzha and Rubanshchina.
