Former deputy governor of the Bryansk region Tymoshenko was detained in a case of receiving a bribe

Sergei Timoshenko, the former deputy governor of the Bryansk region, was detained in a case of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was announced on March 14 by the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU IC RF) for the region.

According to investigators, the suspect, who was responsible for the construction and overhaul of facilities of social importance, as well as other facilities under state and municipal contracts, received bribes in the amount of 4 million rubles from entrepreneurs involved in the construction of sports and recreation complexes. The bribes were received in exchange for general patronage in the implementation of these contracts.
