Pensioner gave 2 million rubles to fraudsters in Irkutsk region

Police in the Irkutsk region are conducting an investigation into fraud, which resulted in the injury of a 75-year-old pensioner. The woman lost about 2 million rubles.

According to a resident of Svirsk, she received an SMS message about changing her password on the Gosuslugi portal. The woman called back at the phone number listed in the message. The interlocutor convinced the pensioner that the scammers allegedly gained access to the victim's personal account, and also issued a power of attorney for her apartment. This is reported by IA IrkutskMedia.

According to the instructions of the scammers, the woman agreed to sell the apartment and transfer the money to a "secure" account. After that, the connection with the scammers stopped.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud on an especially large scale.

In Tula, an 85-year-old pensioner lost more than 4.9 million rubles due to fraud. She agreed to transfer all her savings to a "secure" account.
