Kovalchuk spoke about the number of families who used the right to the remnants of the maternity capital

At the beginning of 2025, 141 thousand families used the right to unused balances of maternity capital, Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Russia Boris Kovalchuk said on March 14.

"The President of Russia [Vladimir Putin] supported our proposal to pay families the unused balances of maternity capital. This proposal was implemented last year, and the relevant law was signed on August 8, 2024," he said at a plenary session of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

According to him, Putin also supported the recommendations of the Accounting Chamber regarding the accounting of forests. Thus, one of the key proposals is the creation of a unified system of forest accounting, which would combine the state inventory and forest management measures and take into account the indicators of carbon absorption capacity provided by the Forest Fund of the Russian Federation.

Kovalchuk added that special attention continues to be paid to issues related to the interaction and support of regional control and accounting authorities, including in new regions.

The funds can be used for emergencies.

On January 27, it was reported that in 2024, Russians received 706 thousand certificates for maternity capital. At the same time, 4.14 thousand families with children allocated funds for the formation of a funded pension in 2024, which is 1.41 thousand more families than in 2023.
