- A new drawbridge across the Neva River will be introduced before the opening of the CMMSD in St. Petersburg.

A new drawbridge across the Neva River in St. Petersburg may be put into operation even before the completion of the construction of the entire Latitudinal High-speed Highway. The bridge is part of the Western High-Speed Diameter.
Governor Alexander Beglov spoke about this possibility. According to him, quoted by the 78 TV channel, the construction of the new ferry is part of the fourth stage of the CMMSD project. The construction of the bridge continues, despite the unavailability of the last major CMMSD facility, the interchange of the highway with the existing Ring Road. It should be completed no earlier than 2030.
The bridge will appear next to the existing Finnish Railway Bridge in the area of Zolnaya and Fayansovaya streets. Beglov noted that the crossing will be of strategic importance for the city, as it will relieve the transport infrastructure, reducing the load on the Volodarsky and Alexander Nevsky bridges.
After the bridge opens, the transit flow will be redirected from the east towards Vologda and the Murmansk highway. This should improve the transport situation in St. Petersburg.
Earlier it was reported that St. Petersburg became one of the leading cities in the use of robots in the service sector. In 2024, 240 companies in the country developed, manufactured and integrated robots into their work, 63 of them are registered in the Northern Capital. The companies used robots for warehouse logistics, diagnostics, monitoring, entertainment and sports, in the field of medicine, construction and repair.
