At the beginning of 2025, there were 104 vacant positions of subject teachers in schools in the Murmansk Region. The most in need of teachers are in Murmansk (19 vacancies), the Kola region and the Pechenga district (13 vacancies each).

Such data was reported to Bi-port news agency by the regional Ministry of Education and Science. They called these figures uncritical. In 2024, 836 people were employed at schools. Over the past two years, the number of vacant vacancies in educational institutions in the region has halved.

The ministry noted that in two years it was possible to attract about 1.5 thousand people to the education system of the Murmansk region. This happened thanks to recruitment programs and measures to support the regional plan "Live in the North!".

After graduating from the university in 2024, more than 120 UIA graduates got jobs in their specialty. 86 students studying in the specialty "Education and Science" work in educational organizations. Of these, 80 give lessons in subjects in schools and six more work in clubs.

Teachers are also actively involved in the work within the framework of the "Heading North" project. So, in 2024, 77 teachers participated in the personnel support program, 56 members of their families moved with the specialists.

The agency recalls that earlier, the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kravtsov, said that by 2030, the replacement personnel need for teachers would amount to 96 thousand specialists. He also reported that all regional schools in Russia would be brought to a standard state, and the budget provided for an additional 317 million rubles for their major repairs by 2030.
