Novosibirsk resident sentenced to 5 years for helping foreign intelligence services

The Novosibirsk Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 5 years in prison in a case of cooperation with foreign intelligence services. This was announced on March 14 in the press service of the court of general jurisdiction of the region on the social network Vkontakte.

"The court found Viktor Radionov guilty of committing a crime under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and sentenced him to 5 years in prison to serve his sentence in a general regime colony, with a fine of 300 thousand rubles," the press service said.

It was established that the 39-year-old man confidentially established and maintained cooperation with representatives of a foreign state in order to assist against the national security of the Russian Federation. The activities of the defendant were suppressed by employees of the FSB department in the region.

Earlier that day, employees of the FSB directorate for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol detained a 29-year-old resident of Kerch on suspicion of treason. A criminal case has been opened against the suspect under a similar article. He is currently in custody.
