The US administration has "quietly" increased sanctions against Russia, without imposing new restrictions or making official statements. This was reported by Bloomberg on March 14.

It is noted that the American authorities allowed the licenses to expire, which relate to several Russian banks. The issue concerns energy payments in US dollars.

"The newspaper.Ru" clarifies that because of this, foreign oil traders and refiners may face difficulties in making settlements with companies from the Russian Federation.

Earlier on March 14, the media learned about the US plans to tighten sanctions against banks and the Russian energy sector. According to CBS News channel sources, the administration of US President Donald Trump has decided to impose additional restrictions on Russia's oil, gas and banking sectors.
