The most popular cars in alternative imports are named

By the end of 2024, 181.2 thousand new passenger cars were imported to Russia under alternative import schemes. The models of global brands that stopped direct deliveries to Russia in 2022 accounted for 53.5% of imports (almost 100 thousand units). Among them, the Toyota Camry model became the most popular. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, announced this in his Telegram channel on March 14.

The Toyota Camry accounted for 6.1% of imports among global brand models. Next in the ranking are Toyota RAV4 (5.5%), BMW X5 (3.1%), Hyundai Elantra (3%) and Kia Seltos (2.4%). The top ten was rounded out by BMW X7 (2.2%), Lexus RX (2%), Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (2%), Mazda CX-5 (2%) and Mitsubishi Outlander (1.8%).

The second ten included the RAM 1500, Chevrolet Monza, Mercedes G-class, BMW X3, Range Rover, BMW X6, Toyota Corolla, Skoda Kodiaq, Kia Sportage and Mercedes GLS-class.

The share of Chinese models in the total volume was 46.5%.The leaders among the models from China were Geely Monjaro and Coolray, Lixiang L7 and L9, as well as Zeekr 001.

The day before, it was reported that in the three months since the start of sales, about 300 Lada Aura cars were registered in Russia. It is the most expensive model in the brand's line. The business sedan is available in two trim levels and costs 2.6 million and 2.8 million rubles.
