Production of cereals and pasta increased in January

In January 2025, domestic producers produced 151 thousand tons of cereals and 120 thousand tons of pasta, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported on March 14. This is 10.2% and 8.3% more than in the same period last year, they said.

According to Igor Sviridenko, president of the Russian Union of Flour Milling and Cereal Enterprises, in recent years the consumption of cereals and pasta has increased in our country against the background of stable prices for these products. Another reason for the increase in production is the development of exports. Last year, the supply of pasta abroad increased by more than 10% compared to the level of 2023.

According to Sergey Nemirovsky, Executive Director of the National Pasta Manufacturers Association, the production of durum wheat pasta is growing significantly, and in physical terms it has already equaled the production of soft wheat pasta, including instant products.

Taking these factors into account, it is expected that the production of cereals and pasta will maintain a positive trend.
