An American Airlines plane caught fire at the airport in Denver, Colorado, USA, due to engine problems. This was announced on March 13 by Fox31 TV channel with reference to the company's press service.

It is specified that as a result of the incident, passengers were forced to evacuate the aircraft. The flight was heading from Colorado Springs Airport to Dallas International Airport, but was forced to make an emergency landing in Denver.

"After landing safely and taxiing to the gate at Denver International Airport (DEN), American Airlines Flight 1006 experienced engine problems. 172 passengers and six crew members left the plane," the airline said in a statement.

Special services are working at the scene of the incident. Additional circumstances of the incident are being established.

On March 6, it was reported that a flight en route from New York to Los Angeles made an emergency landing in Chicago due to a note with bomb threats found on board. The police did not specify whether there was a real threat on board the aircraft, but it is known that the same plane took off from Chicago some time later.
