The crew of the T-80BVM tank destroyed the shelters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the Sentry Yar

The crew of a T-80BVM tank of the 72nd separate motorized Rifle Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed shelters for personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Chasovoy Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on March 14 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The target was identified by Russian reconnaissance units, after which the tankers attacked the enemy's hideout. The fire was adjusted using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). After recording the successful destruction of the target, the crew changed their firing position.

The T-80BVM tank operates both by direct fire and from closed positions, using high-explosive and high-explosive fragmentation ammunition. This allows maximum damage to enemy fortifications and armored vehicles, the ministry noted. Tankers of the Southern Group of Forces constantly provide fire support to Russian assault units, thereby ensuring the advance of troops in the DPR.

On March 12, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Ivanovo and Kostroma assault units of the 98th Guards Airborne Division had captured large strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of multi-storey buildings and the Chasova Yara industrial zone. The Russian military also managed to destroy two enemy machine-gun emplacements and a Baba Yaga hexacopter.
