Andrey Tumanov, chairman of the Moscow Horticultural Union NGO, told how to put the garden in order after the winter.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, March 13, the specialist noted that the weekend cottager would not be able to do even 10% of what was needed before the start of the season.

If you have knee-deep water there, which often happens, then you need to dig it out so that the water goes away. If the greenhouse was closed, then cover the areas with snow or peat to soak the ground," Tumanov explained.

According to him, at least basic sanitary order should be established at the site: inspect the trees, get rid of dried and mummified fruits, and collect plant remains.

Only then can you sow carrots, beets, lettuce, parsley and radishes — cold-resistant crops, writes RT. Tumanov added that they can be planted directly into the ground, add nitrogen fertilizers to start growing shoots.

Also on March 13, Valery Gladchuk, chairman of the Krasnoyarsk Horticultural Union, called for watering seedlings exclusively at the root. He explained that the water should be at room temperature to avoid plant death due to sudden temperature changes. For convenience, you can use a kettle or a small bottle, according to 360.ru .

On March 11, gardener Svetlana Krasnolutskaya in an interview with sat aif.ru She told me how to spray the garden on bare branches. According to her, a solution of urea and copper sulfate is well suited, and the dosage should be strong while the trees are in a state of "sleep." The resulting solution, according to the gardener, will burn out the spores of diseases, such as scab, and destroy pests.

In February, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, President of the Association of Horticulturalists of the Russian Federation Igor Mukhanin called the warm winter ideal for garden crops. According to him, a strong temperature drop from +5 degrees to -25 degrees per night, as well as severe frosts below -35 degrees, are dangerous, NSN notes.

Earlier, Izvestia told which irrigation and lighting systems to choose for cottages.
