The settlement of relations between Armenia and Turkey is a matter of time. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with Turkish journalists in Yerevan on March 13.

"Normalization may be postponed for another three months, six months or a year. But today I think it's only a matter of time, and we should be patient in this process. First of all, we must accept the principle of "do no harm," CNN Turk quoted him as saying.

According to Pashinyan, a direct dialogue is currently underway between the countries, and representatives are in constant contact. He clarified that the Armenian delegation has met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan several times, and the ministers of foreign Affairs, education, culture and sports are having telephone conversations. Also, according to him, Armenia recently extradited two accused persons to Turkey.

"This is an extremely important event, and I am sure that it will yield results. <...> Because before we didn't even have the opportunity to clarify each other's points of view, you know? We usually found out everything through third countries," the prime minister stressed.

Pashinyan expressed hope that in the near future the border between the two countries will be opened for rail and road transport and direct trade links will be established.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared their political will to normalize relations without preconditions during telephone talks in June 2024. The importance of continuing negotiations between the special representatives of the countries was also stressed.
