- Mezentsev said that Putin and Lukashenko confirmed the unity of approaches to security

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko confirmed the unity of approaches to security issues in the Eastern European region. Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State, told Izvestia on March 13.
He recalled that on that day the presidents exchanged letters of ratification of the treaty on security guarantees between the Russian Federation and Belarus.
"The unity of approaches and assessments of the situation in the Eastern European region and on the continent as a whole has been confirmed by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko," Mezentsev said.
The Secretary of State pointed out that the leaders equally assess the scale of threats and challenges that Moscow and Minsk face, and a response to them will be developed with unified approaches within the framework of the Union State.
