UK opened a case on the murder of a pensioner in an apartment in St. Petersburg

A criminal case has been opened in St. Petersburg over the murder of a 70-year-old woman whose body was found in an apartment in the village of Strelna. This is reported by the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city on the Neva in its Telegram channel.

The pensioner's body was found on March 13 in an apartment building on Lvovskaya Street. According to the 78 TV channel, the woman died from stab wounds inflicted in the neck and torso.

"The investigative department for the Petrodvorets district of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder")," the report says.

Investigators are working at the scene of the incident and will appoint a complex of examinations in the near future. A search is underway for the criminal.

In February, a court in Angarsk (Irkutsk region) sentenced a local resident who strangled her sleeping mother with a pillow. The woman admitted her guilt in committing the crime.
