Russians over the age of 35 have become the main audience of dating sites


Contrary to popular belief, young people are not the main audience of dating services: the majority (34%) of all users are Generation X - people aged 35-44 years. This follows from a study by Platforma Advertising Software analysts, the results of which were reviewed by Izvestia on March 14.
The second place (27%) is occupied by Russians aged 45-54 years. Only 18% of millennials (25-34 years old) are users of dating apps, while people from 18 to 24 years old (generation Z) make up only 2% of the total audience.
Among Russians who use dating services, there are more men - 60% of them, and 40% of women, respectively. At the same time, more than half of all users have an average income level, and 17% belong to the low-income category.
Moreover, young men between the ages of 18 and 27 are mostly interested in light flirting, while women between the ages of 18 and 38 are more focused on serious relationships. Russians over the age of 50 are most often looking for partners for travel, hobbies or joint sports activities.
Dating apps are most actively used in large cities of the Russian Federation.: in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don.
The study shows that in 2024, the audience of domestic dating services grew by another 10-15%. After leaving the Russian market of international platforms, domestic applications have significantly expanded their audience.
On March 5, Izvestia got acquainted with the results of a survey conducted by Bitrix24, an online business management service, and Twinby, a dating service. According to them, for 80% of Russians, a partner's income plays an important role in building relationships. Experts have found that only 2% of women consider the situation when one of the partners fully provides for the family unacceptable, for 95% it is acceptable.
