At the moment, there is an unstable situation related to nuclear safety at the Zaporizhia NPP. This was announced on March 13 by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi.
"The unstable situation with nuclear safety and security in general was also observed at the Zaporizhia nuclear Power Plant, <...> where the IAEA experts heard explosions at different distances from the facility most of the days," Grossi said in a weekly report.
It is noted that the IAEA staff conducts nuclear security monitoring. As part of the inspection, experts measured the water level in 12 ponds. As a result, it was concluded that there is enough liquid in them to cool six reactors.
Earlier, on February 13, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were terrorizing the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant while Russia was ensuring the safety of IAEA experts.
