- Ukraine received about $1.7 billion from Canada from the proceeds from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine received about 2.5 billion Canadian dollars (approximately $1.7 billion) from Canada due to the proceeds from Russia's frozen assets. This was announced on March 13 by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
"These funds, secured by income from frozen Russian assets, will be directed to the priority needs of the state budget," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Shmygal stressed that this is the first tranche from Canada, which has agreed to transfer a total of about 5 billion Canadian dollars (about $3.5 billion). In total, $50 billion can be transferred to Ukraine under the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) G7 loan program.
Justin Trudeau, then Prime Minister of Canada, said on February 24 that the country would transfer $3.52 billion to Ukraine through profits from frozen Russian assets, as well as military equipment. He also promised to provide a grant to support Ukraine's energy security.
