Russia notes the positive rhetoric from the US administration on issues of bilateral relations, but will judge it on specific cases. This was announced on March 13 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"We read the signals. We note the positive rhetoric. We support a positive, constructive attitude aimed at peace, cooperation and mutual understanding, both on the part of the current US administration and from any side, no matter where it comes from, but we also focus on concrete steps and deeds," she stressed.

According to Zakharova, the implementation of these measures shapes the state's foreign policy and bilateral relations with its allies.

At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs drew attention to the fact that often "words differ from deeds," so it is necessary to take into account all the signals that come from the United States.

In an hour and a half, they also discussed prisoner exchanges, the situation in the Middle East and the Iran nuclear deal

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 10 that Moscow was currently at the initial stage of its "restoration" of bilateral relations with Washington. According to him, there is a long way to go, but the presidents of the countries have expressed their political will in this direction.

Prior to that, on February 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the first contacts with the American administration were encouraging. He clarified that there is a mutual commitment to work towards the restoration of interstate relations.
