A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that units of the Zapad group of forces improved their tactical situation, units of the Southern group of Forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and units of the Vostok group of forces defeated formations of an infantry brigade, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades in the areas of four settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic.

"Four JDAM guided aerial bombs and two US—made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, as well as 147 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles, were shot down by air defense systems," the agency said.

It is noted that tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated military facilities of the airfield infrastructure, the workshop for the manufacture and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as concentrations of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries in 158 districts.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 657 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 46,508 unmanned aerial vehicles, 600 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,144 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,526 multiple rocket launchers, 22,521 field artillery and mortars, and 32,745 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
