Sobyanin announced the completion of the Moscow Photonics Center

The construction of a new high—tech enterprise, the Moscow Photonics Center, has been completed in the capital. The project will be launched at the Alabushevo site of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel.
By the end of the year, the center will carry out equipment commissioning and start production.
The company will produce photonic integrated circuits (FIS), which are special optical devices that transmit data at speeds above 100 Gbit/s while reducing energy consumption by up to 10 times.
The products will increase the data transfer rate by 50-100 times. This is important for telecommunications, space communications, as well as the development of artificial intelligence, biomedicine and other high-tech industries. The site will be able to produce up to 100 thousand products per year.
Another important project at Alabushevo is the construction of a Center for photomasks, which are used in the process of creating integrated circuits. This is a partnership project of the Government of Moscow, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the National Research University MIET. There will be about 300 jobs in production. The created capacities are designed to manufacture up to 5.5 thousand products per year.
Today, more than 220 high-tech enterprises are located in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, of which 120 have resident status. Over 22,000 jobs have been created. Four intersectoral clusters have been formed: pharmaceutical, electric vehicle manufacturing, photonics and microelectronics, and unmanned aircraft systems.
