The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are facing the onslaught of the Russian army in the Kursk region. This was reported on March 13 by the French newspaper Le Figaro with reference to the Ukrainian military.

"The situation is catastrophic. All logistical routes are cut off, we are at the mercy of Russian drones and artillery, which are constantly firing at us," the newspaper quoted one of the Ukrainian militants as saying.

According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hastily leaving their positions in the Kursk region due to the use of fiber-optic drones by the Russian army, which cannot be silenced by electronic warfare.

As the authors of the article noted, at the moment the question is not whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to maintain their positions in the Kursk region, but how long they will stay in the combat zone.

In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot use their drones due to the lack of a Starlink satellite communication system.

Earlier that day, it was reported that units of the North group of forces had liberated the settlements of Sudzha, Melovoy and Podol in the Kursk region during offensive operations. In addition, the Russian military defeated seven brigades and an enemy assault regiment in the areas of the settlements of Gogolevka, Goncharovka, Zaoleshenka, Guevo, Oleshnya, Zapselye, Sudzha and Rubanshchina.
