- More than 30 events will be included in the program of the Russian-Chinese Forum.

More than 30 thematic platforms, business and cultural events dedicated to cooperation between the two countries in various fields will be organized within the framework of the Russian-Chinese Forum, which will be held in Khabarovsk on May 19-20. The forum is expected to bring together more than a thousand representatives of business, government agencies and creative industries. The operator is the Roscongress Foundation.
"We live and work in very difficult times – geopolitical instability, large-scale restructuring of the world. During this period, it is especially important to strengthen good-neighborly ties. Relations between Russia and China are at the highest level in history and continue to develop. The preservation and development of time-tested friendly relations between countries is a prerequisite for maintaining stability in the world and human security. China is Russia's main economic partner in the Far East. 58 projects with a total investment volume of over 1 trillion rubles are being implemented in the preferential regimes of the Far East with the participation of Chinese capital. These include projects such as the construction of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex with investments of more than 890 billion rubles, and a number of other major projects in agriculture, logistics, and construction. In 2022, the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Regions were connected to the province of Heilongjiang by two new bridges – Blagoveshchensk–Heihe and Nizhneleninskoye–Tongjiang. I am convinced that in the near future the number of joint projects in the economy, sports, and culture will grow," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
The Russian-Chinese forum will be held under the slogan "Bolshoy Ussuriysky: cooperation in the joint development of the island." Its program will cover a wide range of issues, from industrial cooperation, ecological transport, tourism and trade to youth exchanges and intercultural communication.
Within the framework of the program, a strategic session "Bridges of Friendship: cooperation between Russia and China in tourism" will be held, where plans to create a tourist infrastructure and opportunities for the growth of mutual tourist flow will be discussed, including in the light of the prospects of opening a checkpoint on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island.
A strategic session on renewable energy and new modes of transport will be devoted to international cooperation on environmental issues.
In addition, a session "Bridge to the Future: a youth perspective on Russian-Chinese cooperation" will be organized specifically for the youth of Russia and China at the forum. Young leaders, entrepreneurs, creative figures and representatives of patriotic organizations of the two countries will be able to take part in its work.
Special attention will be paid to investment cooperation. Russian and Chinese entrepreneurs will discuss the creation of international industrial parks, as well as existing and potential benefits and preferences.
The regions of Russia will be able to demonstrate their investment potential as part of the Road Show. Russian companies focused on joint business projects with China will take part in the work of the site. The projects presented will be included in the program of the meeting on investment cooperation, which will be held by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the State Committee for Development and Reforms of the People's Republic of China. B2B negotiations are also planned, where entrepreneurs from Russia and China will be able to find new partners. Applications for participation in them are accepted until March 31.
Cultural and sporting events will take place at the forum. In particular, a round table on linguistics and intercultural communication will be held, where representatives of Russia and China will discuss the formation of multilingual culture as a new vector in the development of education and intercultural communication.
The Russian-Chinese Forum is organized by the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, JSC Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, VEB.RF.
The development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island based on the principles of good neighborliness and respect for the sovereign rights of states is one of the areas of bilateral relations between Russia and China and is enshrined in the joint statement on deepening comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation, which was made following the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China from May 16 to 17, 2024. The need to create a roadmap for the island's development is fixed in the list of instructions of the head of state following the results of the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum — 2024.
