The fire season is expected to begin on April 10 or earlier, and a special fire protection regime will be introduced on April 18, said Anatoly Tarasenko, deputy head of the regional Department of Civil Protection, Environmental Protection and Natural Resources. He noted that the decisions have been coordinated with all departments and agencies in the region.

The agency writes that, according to forecasts, the fire season in the Kursk region will be especially difficult due to the warm and dry weather. The authorities announced a high-alert regime from February 28 to June 30. This is necessary to mobilize resources and coordinate the actions of agencies to combat forest fires.

Earlier, on March 6, it was reported that a large forest fire had been extinguished in Primorsky Krai near the Land of the Leopard National Park. He threatened the ecosystem of the park.
