Flood protection will appear on the Tyumen–Omsk highway by 2032

By 2032, the reconstruction of the section of the Tyumen–Omsk federal highway P402 in the Abatsky district of the Tyumen Region should be completed. These dates were announced at a meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy and Environmental Management of the regional Duma by Deputy head of the region Vladimir Cheymetov.

He noted that we are talking about expanding the site, increasing it and raising the level. Rosavtodor confirmed that the site is standing in terms of reconstruction.

IA " <url>" notes that this section of the federal highway was flooded more than once by flood waters in the spring of 2024. The question of what can be done with the site to protect it from flooding was raised during a direct line between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the Ministry of Construction, Irek Fayzullin.

Earlier, on March 12, specialists from the Tyumen Center for Hydrometeorology gave an unfavorable forecast for flooding in the Ishim River. According to weather forecasters, the water level on the river is expected to be above the long-term average. They claim that from mid-April, the indicators will exceed the mark of a dangerous phenomenon in the settlements of Kazansky. Experts have already begun preparing materials for the construction of embankments and fortifications.
