- Polish President Duda called on the United States to deploy nuclear weapons in the republic

Polish President Andrzej Duda has called on the United States to deploy nuclear weapons in the country. This was reported on March 13 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
It is specified that Duda discussed this issue with the special representative of the American president for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg.
"The President of Poland called on the United States to transfer nuclear weapons to Polish territory," the publication says.
Duda stressed that, in his opinion, US President Donald Trump could consider moving nuclear weapons from Western Europe or the United States to Poland. He noted that taking into account the expansion of NATO to the east in 1999, 26 years later it is also necessary to update the infrastructure of the North Atlantic Alliance.
On April 22, 2024, Duda announced that the Polish authorities were ready to deploy American nuclear weapons in the country if such a decision was made by NATO. He also noted that this topic has been discussed for some time by the country's authorities with colleagues from the American country.
