Ambassador Kelin announced that the Russian Federation is considering the US proposal for a ceasefire

Moscow will consider Washington's proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. This was announced on March 12 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"We will consider the American proposal for a cease—fire," the diplomat said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) newspaper.

However, Kelin stressed that a cessation of hostilities would be possible only after reaching a "comprehensive" agreement. According to him, Russia treats the American initiative with great caution.

"It will take time to reach a lasting agreement," the ambassador said.

On March 11, Kiev expressed readiness for a 30-day ceasefire during negotiations with the United States in Saudi Arabia. On the same day, American leader Donald Trump announced that he intended to obtain the consent of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Trump, the delegations of the countries will meet in the next few days for relevant discussions. Later, he said that Washington's representatives had already gone to Russia.
