Governor-General of Canada Mary Simon confirmed that the ceremony will take place at the Rideau Hall Official Residence in Ottawa at 11:00 local time (18:00 GMT). On the same day, acting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will resign, after which Carney will introduce new cabinet members, with whom he will take the oath of office.
