The nutritionist named the benefits and harms of pineapples

Nutritionist, PhD Elena Solomatina listed the benefits and harms of pineapples. According to her, this fruit contains many beneficial substances for the body.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, March 12, the specialist noted that pineapple contains a large amount of vitamin C, necessary for the immune system, as well as carotenoids, precursors of vitamin A. It also contains B vitamins, potassium and magnesium, which strengthen the cardiovascular system and lower blood pressure.
In addition, pineapple contains an enzyme that breaks down protein well and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Meanwhile, the nutritionist emphasized, it is dangerous to consume pineapple on an empty stomach, as it can begin to digest the mucous membrane.
"People with gastritis, ulcers, and high acidity are not recommended to eat pineapples. It will be a blow to the patient with acid. Pregnant women should not get carried away with pineapples either, it can cause the uterus to contract," Solomatina warned.
Healthy people should eat pineapples after meals as a dessert, writes RT.
Earlier that day, Solomatina said that pineapples contain a lot of fructose, which does not cause a feeling of satiety, which is fraught with overeating. Large amounts of fructose are harmful to the liver and can lead to obesity, notes 360.ru . The substance bromelain contained in pineapple can cause bleeding in people with gastritis or ulcers.
Earlier, NSN, citing experts, wrote that pineapple contains so much vitamin C that one slice is able to satisfy about 30% of the daily requirement for it.
Experts do not recommend eating more than a third of the average fruit per day, according to the website kp.ru .
Earlier, nutritionist Galina Jorova refuted the myth of the "fat-burning" effect of pineapple. According to her, pineapple contains bromelain, which helps normalize fat metabolism, but no bromelain will dissolve existing subcutaneous fat.
