Demolition of the old overpass started on Komsomolskaya Street in Yekaterinburg

Demolition work has begun in Yekaterinburg on an old overpass located in the construction area of a new road interchange at the Kalina concern. The relevant information was confirmed to the news agency " <url>" by the city administration.

We are talking about the central overpass, which is located between two new bridges that have already been built. The building is not in operation, the mayor's office noted.

On March 7, in connection with the upcoming work, the contractor blocked the section of Komsomolskaya Street from house No. 80 to the Siberian tract. The passage is expected to open in December 2025.

The news agency clarifies that Yekaterinburg's main road construction began in November 2021. The project was divided into five stages. Traffic started moving along the right—hand overpass in September 2023, and the overpass along the left-hand passage was launched on January 30, 2025.

Initially, it was planned to complete the construction of the interchange in December 2024, but the deadline was postponed to August 2026. This is the standard construction period stipulated in the updated contract, but the authorities expect to accept the facility as early as the end of 2025.

In January, it also became known about the rise in construction prices from 7.7 billion to 8.27 billion rubles. The city Administration of Capital Construction has concluded a corresponding agreement with the general contractor, which is Almakorgroup LLC.
