Residents of the village of Kazachya Loknya in the Kursk region, liberated by Russian troops, told Izvestia about the seven months they spent under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to people, the Ukrainian militants promised to take care of the population, but in fact they treated people cruelly.

"We were bullied by these animals," the locals recall.

They said they had heard about massacres and murders, as well as observed military equipment stationed right in residential areas.

"There was a cannon in front of my house, there was a cannon in the gate, and there were two more guns on the right," said Elena Garafonova, one of the villagers.

Earlier, on March 11, residents of the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region told Izvestia that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had broken into houses, which forced locals to hide in barns. According to the resident, they were saved by the fact that there were no severe frosts. She also added that there was no heater, stove, or firewood in the barn.
