Krasnoyarsk has completed an investigation into the fraud of shareholders for 1 billion rubles.

Investigators in Krasnoyarsk have completed the investigation of a criminal case against a former head of a construction company accused of abuse of office. This was announced on March 12 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"The total damage amounted to about a billion rubles," Volk clarified in her Telegram channel.

The representative also stated that about 800 victims had been identified and questioned in the criminal case.

According to the investigation, in the period from 2011 to 2017, the accused concluded equity contracts for housing construction in Krasnoyarsk, Sosnovoborsk and Divnogorsk. However, the funds received were not fully allocated to the projects, and the obligations to the shareholders were not fulfilled.

A criminal case has been opened against the ex-head of the company under Part 2 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Abuse of official authority"), and a preventive measure has been imposed on him in the form of a written undertaking not to leave. His land plots were seized to compensate for the damage.

"Currently, the criminal case has been sent to the Sovetsky District Court of the city of Krasnoyarsk for consideration on the merits," Volk concluded.

On the same day, the FSB of Russia in the Zaporizhia region reported the detention of the general director of one of the road enterprises. It was established that the detainee overestimated the amount of work performed under the state contract, which led to the embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale. The total amount of damage exceeded 13 million rubles.
